Does the W.T have financial problems are are they just rebranding?
by The Rebel init is evident that the w.t has recently re-branded itself, and has become fairly modern in its marketing techniques.
so the organisation is in that respect forward thinking, and the former way of doing things has past.. .
but this rebranding has been done by marketing experts, who maybe realise progress is progress, and that with modernisation many bethelites " even as free volunteers" are possibly no longer required.

To me, the fact that they unveiled this whole new kingdom hall design plan with much fanfare, then a few months later cancelled or delayed it all after explicitly saying in a JW broadcasting episode that "more funds are going out than coming in", means there is actually trouble in Watchtower land. They wouldn't flip flop like that unless they didn't see it coming when the new kingdom hall designs were unveiled. -

Kingdom Consolidation and Sales are coming – Reliable Source
by thedepressedsoul ini heard form a reliable source that a kingdom hall consolidation is going to be happening in the us.
currently they are looking at every kingdom hall to see if they could and should sell it.
any kingdom hall that has not been updated and is in a bad location (long driveway, not in a visible location etc...) will be sold.

Do You Think 10% Tithing is Coming?
by xjwsrock infirstly, there are cash flow problems in wt town.
i don't think it's necessary to list all the cutbacks and layoffs, but there have been many.. their thirst for money seems higher too in my opinion.
more entitled may be a better way of putting it.

I think if the financial problems are serious, they will introduce personal tithing. They won't have any other choice. I really hope it happens, because like many here, I think it would wake a lot of people up. -

Where has all the money gone?
by gingerbread ina number of years ago when i was still active, our service group was having a coffee break with the visiting circuit overseer.
during the conversation he mentioned that the "society" was now being run like a business.
being raised in the "truth" i thought that rather odd (and my eyes began to be opened!

I can't see the Watchtower saying that there's more funds going out than in like they did in the May broadcast unless that were actually true. They have to know that kind of soliciting would have angered a lot of people. I think there is a problem and we will see tithing similar to the Mormons. Tithing would wake a lot of people up. -

It must be a concern of all the information that is now been leaked
by joe134cd ini have put up previous posts about this in the past, but i just thought that it was worth mentioning again.
it has to be of concern to them with how quickly information is getting leaked.
hell it even surprises at just how slowly information spreads by offical means.

The fact that there is even some dissent in the JWTalk thread is telling since it's moderated so closely. Some people seem to just be repeating scriptures to drown out their own negative thoughts about it. -

Brooklyn Layoffs and Halt to Kingdom Hall construction projects
by James Jack ina good source just just told me that at morning worship today that the governing body announced that a total of 1600 bethelites will be let get go and not transferred to warwich when the last property is sold in brooklyn and all kingdom hall building projects are on hold for at least a year so that all the focus will be on the preaching work.

On JWTalk some are saying that the special pioneers have been reduced to 100 from 500. Not sure if that's just one country or worldwide (I assume one country).
it's interesting reading that thread. You can tell there's a lot of people waking up with this construction being halted. Every comment is moderated on that site so the fact you can actually see the dissent is something. Usually it's annoyingly positive.

Is it worth making a JW Talk profile?
by Lemonp ini have looked at the jw talk forums every now and again.
is it any use making a profile to get in?
mainly just to laugh at the pathetic discussion that they carry on with.

I've had an account there for the last few years under a fake name. It's hard to post any real facts though since every single post is read over by the moderators before it's posted. -

Feedback on RC from JW Friendly Site
by konceptual99 inthere has been some comment on the latest rc proceedings on that well know jw friendly site.. one set of posts has been particularly interesting as the poster related their own experience as an abuse victim when they were a child in the congregation.
this of course took courage and the poster deserves no criticism at all for this.
he is, however, still very supportive of the organisation.. this is his latest post:.

It's interesting reading on there how happy they were about Spinks' testimony. But things seem to have changed more negative over the last couple of days. It seems like a few people on there think Geoffrey Jackson should testify. -

Is It Time to regroup?
by John Aquila inhow much do you want to bet that the organization has already started preparing articles for the watchtower magazines, convention talks, circuit overseers talks and letters to bodies of elders, to refute what is happening in australia?
.
right now the most important thing for the wt to do is protect their image that they are gods visible organization.especially in the u.s. and latin american countries.

What that former CO/DO and current elder said just can't be true.
It also can't be true considering Australia is averaging at least one known pedophile per congregation. He's had to have encountered more based on the numbers. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if we extrapolate those numbers world wide, would JWs actually be the worst religion on average with child abuse?
